Terms for using BoardFaults.
1. What BoardFaults does
BoardFaults provides general, evidence-led diagnostic information and a service that prepares and matches interactive-display repair enquiries with independent service partners. It is primarily intended for organisations in the United Kingdom and Ireland, but private individuals may submit enquiries.
2. Diagnostic information
Guides are general information, not a remote inspection, professional electrical advice or a guarantee that a fault has been identified. Follow only safe external checks appropriate to your competence and workplace rules. Do not open equipment, work on mains circuitry or remove a large mounted display unless properly qualified and equipped. Stop immediately if there is smoke, sparking, a burning smell, exposed wiring, liquid ingress, unusual heat or another safety concern.
3. Submitting an enquiry
You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and have authority to share it. Do not upload unlawful material or unrelated personal data. Submission does not guarantee a match, quotation, response time, repair, price or availability. We may reject, pause or request more information for incomplete, unsafe, abusive or out-of-scope enquiries.
4. Independent service partners
A service partner is an independent business, not an employee or agent of BoardFaults. Unless BoardFaults expressly states otherwise in writing, any inspection, collection, quotation, repair, warranty, appointment, payment and related contract is directly between you and that partner. Check the provider's identity, competence, insurance, quotation and terms before proceeding. BoardFaults does not authorise a provider to make promises on its behalf.
5. Charges
BoardFaults currently does not charge customers merely to submit an enquiry. A service partner may charge for diagnostics, travel, collection, parts or repair under a quotation or terms it provides to you. If BoardFaults introduces a customer charge, it will be shown and agreed before payment is taken.
6. Private individuals
If you are acting as a consumer, nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any mandatory information and cancellation rights applying to a repair contract must be provided by the business entering that contract with you. These terms do not require you to waive statutory consumer rights.
7. Availability and liability
We use reasonable care in operating the service, but websites, email delivery and partner availability can fail or be interrupted. To the extent permitted by law, BoardFaults is not responsible for a partner's acts, omissions, quotation or repair, or for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on general diagnostic information. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Intellectual property and manufacturer names
BoardFaults content, layout and original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Manufacturer names and marks identify compatible equipment; BoardFaults is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by those manufacturers. You may link to public pages, but may not republish substantial content or operate an automated copy without permission.
9. Privacy, cookies and changes
Our Privacy Notice explains how personal data is used and our Cookie Notice describes site storage. We may update these terms prospectively by publishing a new version and date. A material change does not retrospectively alter a repair contract already made with a service partner.
10. Law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes. Please send complaints first to hello@boardfaults.co.uk with the BoardFaults reference so we can investigate.
